Yoga has become very popular worldwide because of its great value. The purpose of yogic practice is to establish harmony between various organs and systems in the body which have to carry out their physiological functions with complete co-ordination. Yogic practice provides gentle stretching movements designed to help balance the mind and body. The postures are designed to rejuvenate the brain, spine and all internal vital organs. Pranayama confers multiple benefits including strong memory and sharp reflexes. It also gives not only tranquility but also helps to lay a strong foundation for health and longevity. The human body has the power to cure or heal itself. The Indian system of medicine lays emphasis on leading a life which is full of happiness and useful to society as a whole.

Fr. John Ferreira has a rich educational background and deep interesting yogic philosophy and literature which enables him to explain yogic practices and their applications in a very simple language. His deep study in yogic literature and their interpretation using knowledge of modern science makes the book very interesting and useful. The book has been written in a very systematic way to make it possible for the practitioner to achieve unimagined heights of perfection.

I wish Fr. John Ferreira all success in his endeavour to bring before the students and others the body’s natural healing process.
